Digital X-Rays/CT Scan

Digital X-Rays
We offer in-office digital x-rays for your convenience. Digital x-rays are computer-generated images. The new system takes pictures via a small electronic sensor and instantaneously transmits a picture of the tooth onto the video monitor in the treatment room. Therefore, we can see your teeth and surrounding structures immediately.
CT Scan
Dr. Kim uses the Picasso Trio Dental CBCT system to evaluate clinical cases, bone quality, maxillary sinus, and TMJ. Cone Beam Computed Technology (CBCT) has achieved new heights and has become the benchmark in dental imaging. The CBCT imaging system scans your head, joints, and airways so they can be viewed from any angle and even as cross-sections.

How does the CT scan help my dentist?
- It evaluates the facial bones to access the feasibility of placing dental implants at specific sites in the jaws. This ensures that every possible precaution has been made to reduce the risk of involvement of the nerves in the lower jaw, as well as the sinuses and nose in the upper jaw.
- It determines the status of previously placed implants.
- It checks for abnormalities (pathology) in or affecting the bones.
- It assesses the mandibular nerve prior to the removal of impacted teeth, especially the lower wisdom teeth.
